Happy Veterans Day

On November 11, 1918 at 11:00 World War I came to an end with a cease-fire agreement being signed at Rethondes, France. One year later the United States celebrated the date with Armistice Day to remember the sacrifices made by Americans during that war.

While Memorial Day was create after the Civil War to honor those who lost their life during war, Armistice Day was for both the living and the dead. Armistice Day was celebrated until 1954 when the name was changed to Veterans Day to encompass veterans of all wars.
